Introduction:

Commodity Services Limited (CSL) believes in the promotion of structured trade solutions that can support a range of stakeholders across agricultural value chains, by providing tailor-made products to cater for the industry needs through collateral management, stock monitoring, and commodity services.

CSL was established to provide commodity inspection and collateral management services, as well as a range of additional support services and technological innovations aimed at enhancing industry standards and knowledge within Malawi’s agricultural grain handling industry from smallholders farmers to consumers.

Operations Manager Position:

The role of Operations Manager will challenge the successful applicant to strive towards providing high-quality and dedicated customer focus, committed team leadership, and exemplary results.

While experience in agricultural produce handling, warehousing, supply chain, or finance (loans) would be beneficial, a hard-working and committed personality is essential. We hope to encourage an individual with a growth mindset, keen to question the status quo, and implement innovative and technologically-centered solutions to operation processes and systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Team management – oversee a segment of the Operations Team and integrate into a small and committed management team.
  • Reporting – compile information for various stakeholders, conduct checks and balances, and liaise with all operational personnel to ensure timely delivery.
  • Tracking, monitoring, and reconciling – focus on data-centered improvements and innovation.
  • Accounts management, budgeting, and reconciliation.
  • Promoting the company through client liaison, representation, and marketing.
  • Auditing and risk management.
Requirements:
Mandatory:
  • Higher Diploma or degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or any related field.
  • Over five (5) years of relevant experience in a related field of Operations Management.
  • Good leadership skills with management or supervisory experience.
  • High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft packages & email.
Preferred:
  • Agricultural commodity handling and value chain experience.
  • Basic accounting experience with good knowledge in budgeting.
